Frequently asked questions

Is MoonLight Poker free?

Yes, completely. All chips are virtual play-money. There is nothing to buy and nothing to cash out.

Is this real-money gambling?

No. MoonLight Poker is a free-to-play game for entertainment. Chips have no monetary value, cannot be withdrawn or redeemed for prizes, and cannot be transferred between players.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Pick a nickname and play. An optional free account saves your statistics, recent results and chip history across devices.

How old do I have to be?

You must be 18 or older to create an account or play. Some jurisdictions restrict simulated gambling games; you are responsible for following your local laws.

Who will I play against?

On public tables you start with five AI players. On private tables your friends join through a link and AI players fill any empty seats, stepping aside between hands when a person needs the seat.

How do I play with friends?

Open Private Table, choose your settings and create the table. Copy the invitation link and send it to your friends. They open it, choose a nickname and are seated at the same live table.

Can I protect my private table?

Yes. You can set an optional password, remove players, and revoke the invitation link at any time. Players already seated stay seated after a link is revoked; new visitors with the old link are turned away.

Are the cards dealt fairly?

Yes. Shuffling uses a cryptographically secure random source on our server, the server decides every outcome, and we never rig deals or favour any player. Your browser is never sent anyone else’s hidden cards.

Do the bots cheat?

No. Bots receive the same information a human in their seat would see. They cannot look at your cards or the deck.

Can I tell which players are bots?

Yes. Bots carry a small “AI” badge next to their avatar and in the player list, and any table chat they post is labelled.

What happens when I disconnect?

Your seat is kept and the game reconnects automatically. If it is your turn, the clock keeps running: a missed turn is a check when that is free and a fold otherwise. After several missed turns in a row you are sat out until you return.

What is the difference between cash-style and tournament tables?

In cash-style play the blinds stay fixed and a busted stack is refilled so you can keep playing. In a private tournament everyone starts with the same chips, the blinds rise on a schedule, and busted players are eliminated until one player remains.

Why can I not join a private tournament that already started?

To keep tournaments fair, players cannot re-enter or join after the first hand. You can watch from the rail.

Which devices and browsers are supported?

Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop, plus Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone and iPad. The table adapts to portrait and landscape.

Does it use my data?

We keep it minimal. Guests are identified by a random, signed cookie. Analytics are aggregated counters with no personal data. See our privacy policy for details and for how to delete your account.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in, open your account page and choose Delete my account. It removes your profile, statistics and chip history permanently.

How do I report a player?

Open the table panel, find the player in the list and choose Report. Moderators review reports and can suspend accounts.

I found a bug or have a suggestion. What should I do?

Thank you! Please tell us what device and browser you use and what happened. Send it through the contact form at /contact/.
